One of the challenges for new directors and other administrators new to an AASB school is the ability to understand the uniqueness of the American school in Brazil. Due to the nature of the inclusion of a national curricula and the implications of responsibility for such, AASB administrators must understand the intricacies of how both curricula interact. Besides the national curriculum, it is essential for administrators to comprehend the responsibilities and role of the Brazilian Director within the American school in Brazil.
Welcome to Brazil and to the Association of American Schools in Brazil (AASB) website. We are an association that has been in existence since 1965 and includes fourteen active schools, which are located in Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Campinas, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and Sao Paulo. These schools have provided the highest quality of education for many students throughout the years. This is evidenced by the high success rate of our graduates in both American and Brazilian universities as well as other postsecondary institutions around the world. The added value of a bilingual and multicultural experience has placed our students in prime positions of business and commerce. These students have been equipped to truly be global participants in our ever-shrinking world.
